I want to start my blog by apologizing for being a little hard on body building as a sport. I give credit for anyone who works out no matter to what degree. Just walking in to a gym is the biggest step. So…. did anyone happen to watch the Rugby World Cup? It was awesome. It is a very popular sport in Europe. In the U.S. the problem is we don’t understand it. If some one were to take the time to push this sport it just might catch on. Just a thought.

OK.  What’s been going on in Hollywood? Well….I just finished shooting a new show with Steve-O from Jack Ass. We shot 8 shows for the first season. All I can tell you is that it’s American Idol meets Fear Factor. Very funny. It will air on TRUE T.V. some time in January. On November 15th I start the show Tear It Down And Build It Up. That will be on the History Channel.

In December, I start a movie called Phantom Hunt. One of those action movies. Now I have to tell you a little about what happened on the show. I am 5’10  and 200lbs. I wear a 48R 33 waist 32 inseam and an 18 inch neck. I tell you this because thats why I got hired for the show. We worked 14 hours a day. Really 14 hours. I was in the gym at 1:00 am in the morning. What kept me going was protein bars, protein juce, and protein powder, along with protein blitz. I drank them from morning to the time I would go to bed. I was able to keep my weight on and keep up my energy. It’s true when they tell yop, you are what you eat. It was a big hit with a lot of the crew as well. Because they kept asking me how I was able to keep my energy level up and go to the gym at the end of the night. It just proves how important protein is to the diet. I have always know how important protein is. I hope by blogging and telling you how it is helping me. You will try it and see and feel the same benefits that I do. So til my next blog grab a bat and get in the game.

A new month and a lot has happened since my last blog. But I did tell you I might have some good news for you. Being true to my word, I do. So lets get the good news out of the way before we get into all thats happened in the world of diet, training, and sports. I have my own show coming out this year. It will be on the History channel and we start shooting October of this year. The show is called Tear It Down And Build It Up. I am so looking forward to getting started. I will let you all know when the air dates come available. I also shot a commercial in Las Vegas for Southern Nevada Water Assoc. So if you live in Vegas keep an eye out for it. There are other things in the works but I don’t like talking about them until I’m sure. Now lets get on with it. Football. Yes football is finally here. It’s funny to me how we get so caught up in the game. I played football in a division 1 collage, and I still don’t get it. What is the attraction? Maybe it’s just me. Heres big news. MMA is going to be on Fox television. You know what that means. More fights. To tell you the truth, I’m tired of watching reruns of the same old fights. Heck half those guys don’t even fight anymore. But I do think it’s good for the sport and the fans. The fastest growing sport in the world just went main stream. OK OK you want me to say something about the Olympia Body Building show in Los Vegas. last week. Boring! How sad is it when you open a news paper or turn on your local sports programs. And believe me they have enough of them. Too many if you ask me. But not one mention of the Olympia.I bet if you didn’t know some one who was a body builder, you would of never known there was a show.. And really. Do you really want to look like that. Jay Cutler really put is foot in his mouth when he said about the winner. I’m not mentioning his name because I don’t remember and I don’t care. But when Cutler said of the winner he is the greatest athlete on the stage. Really. I have a hard time calling a body builder an athlete. It’s not like they can run, jump, swim, throw a base ball, golf, bowl, and the list goes on. O ya they can pose. Wow when did that become an athletic event? Look if your serious about losing waight and getting inei shape go check out a cross fit gym, or even an mma club. Not because you want to fight. But those guy are in such good shape. Last word.   PROTEIN cut the carbs and increase your protein and fats. And train train train. Good luck to everyone for going after your goals.

While on summer break from Hollywood I have been able to check out some different sports. One that has really got my attention is Crossfit. I attended the Reebok Crossfit Games this past weekend and had a great time. It’s one of those sports that is non-stop action. These athletes are in great shape. A combination of strength, cardio, and mental. Don’t be surprised if you see Crossfit as an Olympic sport. As I was watching I couldn’t help thinking just how far exercising has come. It’s no longer just going to the gym and lifting weights or doing aerobics. It brings me back to a question I asked a while back: Why is Bodybuilding a dying sport? Now we know.

Sports like Crossfit, MMA, and American Ninja Warriers are really taking over. We love nothing more than to watch athletes compete against each other. Bodybuilding did serve it’s purpose. Believe it or not back in the day coaches would tell their players to stay out of the weight room. They would get muscle bound and not be able to move or run. Wow were they wrong. Today weight training is a part of every sport. From football to golf. So thank you bodybuilding for that. Now step a side before you get run over.

One thing that hasn’t changed is the foods we eat and the supplements we take. We are in an age were scientific studies have been done and everyone agrees the number one food is protein and it’s not just for athletes and younger people. More and more studies are showing that as we get older we start to loose muscle which weeknd’s our bodies and in return causes more injuries. I can’t tell you enough just how important protein in your diet is. I promise you, you will live longer and healthier. Do I need to say more. Protein is the food sorce for growing and maintaining muscle. So go drink a ProteinBlitz and feel better about your self and your work out. I hope to have some big news for you next month. Til then.

June has been a good month for me, with my training and work. It’s a fact the older you get the more muscle you loose. I say it does’nt have to be that way. The number one reason people lose muscle is the fact they don’t keep the protein levels up in their diet. Even if you don’t work out, you still need to keep your protein levels up in your diet. That is what fuels muscle growth and keeps it on. It’s like building an engine and not putting any gas in it. That’s what is so great about Protein Blitz. It’s so easy to use. You just twist a cap and drink.  You can’t even make a sandwich that fast.

If you never work out again at least keep feeding your body what it needs most. This alone will help you keep the muscle you already have help keep the fat off. However, your body uses more energy to break down the proteins thus helping you burn calories. Keep your muscle and energy and don’t use age as an excuse.

Good luck to everyone and be sure to catch me in the movie Open Road, as well as the T.V. show Professor Genki Show on Comedy Central. I was on the Conan O’Brien show last week, and am waiting to hear if I will have my own show again. Keep track of me on WWW.IMBD.com Til next month keep up the hard work and remember to take your protein. Age is a number not an excuse.

This year is starting out much better than last year’s end. My health is coming back again. What a challenge to have to get knocked down only to pick your self up again and start over. Not just once but three times in one year.

I look forward to getting back to top shape. It’s so easy to quit. So hard to keep going. If it’s not hard it’s not cool. Protein Blitz makes it so much easier.  Why? cause it’s got what your body needs to heal itself and build itself back up.

Coming back from 160 to 200 pounds would take so much longer and so much more work. It would be so hard time after time like I have. December - I was 160 pounds now 200 and growing.

Now what about work? I just shot a commercial for a video game called Play 2, I start shooting pick up shots for the movie Twisted Metal. I’m on the cover of November’s issue of Play Station. I have some other things going on but can’t talk about them til next month. I shot a T.V. show for Comedy Central called Jon Benjamin Has A Van General. That’s this Saturday. So keep an eye out for that. OK that’s it for now, keep drinking your Protein Blitz and keep watching me on T.V. and the big screen.

Let’s start with some good news for a change. I just shot a commercial for a new video game called Play 2. I spent three days on a plane. Not a real plane, a Hollywood plane. The same one they used for Snakes on a Plane. It was a lot of fun. I played a prisoner being transported by a Marshall. Tuesday I read for a big movie. Don’t know if I got it or not, yet.

Now for the funny stuff. Sunday I was back in the hospital after driving myself to the emergency room. I was there for three days. When I left I had two tubes hanging from my upper arm. That was not going to go over well on set. So I untaped it and stuck it under my arm pit. No one knew.  Cool.

I go to the hospital every day for treatment. This will last for six weeks. Since leaving the hospital at Christmas I weight 160 lbs. Tonight at the gym, I’m weighing in at 194lbs. And I owe it all to PROTEIN BLITZ. Why, because that’s what I’ve been using. You can’t help but train harder, you feel so good, you just want to work out. And the results? They speak for themselves.

I wish I would have taken pictures just so you could see the difference, but my ego wouldn’t allow it. I didn’t leave my house for weeks. I went to the gym late when no one is there. But I did go to the gym and I did eat, but most important I got more than my fill of protein. I don’t care what anyone says. You can live without fat and little carbs, but protein? If you’re not getting enough protein your body can’t function. So if & when you take your protein, why not take the best?

Remember what your dad use to say to you growing up: You get what you pay for. Cheap protein, poor results. If you’re not taking ProteinBlitz you’re throwing your money away. Good luck everyone and don’t give up. If it ain’t hard, it ain’t cool.

How important is eating right, working out, and rest? Well let me tell you first hand. On September 4th, 2009 I received a kidney transplant. Everything went really well. I was back in the gym 60 days later. My transplant team credit it to me being in such good shape. December 8th of this year I went in to the hospital for a simple surgery. During the surgery I went in to a coma. I woke up 13 days later. I was on life support all 13 days. My doctors told me a normal person would not have made it.

I want to make one thing clear. This story is not about me. This happens all the time around the country. The thing that doesn’t happen is the fact that I am here to share it with you. On the day of my surgery I ended up having 5 different surgeries, four different surgeons at the same time. In the ICU my doctor told me if it weren’t for me working out and eating right, I would not have made it. One of the things I have learned after going through all this is that there is more to it than just preventing getting sick. It’s what happens after you’re sick and how much eating, working out, and rest is so important. Let’s face it - people are going to get sick, you’re going to get hurt, or something. No matter how much we work out, how good we eat, and how good we take care of ourself.

It could happen. It’s when it happens that makes the difference. How well you do and how fast you recover. So just keep in mind. If you don’t do it for prevention do it for recovery. It makes all the difference. In my past blogs I told you I drink three PROTEIN BLITZ drinks a day. Now you know why. I’m not saying you need three a day. But one a day just might keep that doctor away.  So drink up and know your doing your body a lot of good. I’m living proof.

Just when you think your diet and training is working for you and you start feeling better and looking better, you get hit from the blind side. Well that’s what happened to me.

After receiving my kidney transplant over a year ago. I had gained 40 pounds, benching 300 lbs., and feeling great. Then out of nowhere I started to feel tiered, couldn’t eat, didn’t want to train, didn’t want to leave my house, or do anything. So I go to my doctor  and he finds nothing. I go to a different doctor. Same thing. After the 5th doctor he tells me to go to the hospital and he would meet me there and run some test. Two days in the hospital and I end up in ICU. 11 days later I come out of ICU and was told I had just gone through five different operations. I went in on Dec. 8th and went home Dec. 23rd. Lost 40 pounds and just walking to my car would leaving me out of breath.

So here I am having to put myself back together again. This is my second time in just one year. I can’t train yet. But I can eat. Already I have put on 20 pounds and feeling great. After going through this once before. I already knew what I had to do. At that’s were ProteinBlitz comes in. I am putting lean muscle back on as well as having a lot of energy. My doctors are more than surprised at how well and fast I am recovering.  The reason I’m sharing this with you is to remind you of just how important exercise, rest, and diet is. Protein is a big part of a healthy diet. Whether you’re trying to gain muscle or lose fat. I strongly recommend ProteinBlitz. I know first hand that it works – I’ve been through it once and I will get through it again. It’s nice to know that there is a product out there that really works. It gives you hope knowing you can reach your goals that you have set for yourself. I will be the first to tell you to never give up and that there is help out there.

For all you worried about gaining weight through the holidays. Don’t be. Look, I know it’s not just two days a year. There are the days before and all the days after. Lets face it, left overs are just as good if not a little better then the day they were cooked. Years ago there wasn’t too many choices as far as snacking and meal re-placement. Did you catch that. Meal re-placement. Today we have so many choices. You don’t have to eat whats put in front of you. Thats whats so cool about Pot Luck. You can bring something to share as well as for your self. This is not new for most gym rats. I remember being made fun of by some family members for doing this years ago. And now my whole family does it. Before Protein Blitz there was powders and tablets. Now you fill a pitcher of ProteinBlitz and stick it in the fridge for everyone to share. Even the younger ones can drink. And its not just for the people watching there wight or the guys talking about going to the gum after dinner. Its for everyone. Drinking Protein Blitz will help you not snack so much. It helps with your appetite, as well as making you feel fuller, and stops cravings. When you sit down to eat, remember you can only gain as much as what your plate of food wights. During the holidays drink your Protein Blitz and stop being so hard on your self. Happy Holidays and stop worrying and go out and have fun. You have all next year to worry.

OK, lets start with my training. Ever since I started training my mentality was to get as big and strong as I can. 30 years later and nothing has changed. I’m not as big or strong as I was. But that doesn’t mean I can’t or won’t get back to my prime. I go in to the gym and write down what I’m lifting and how many reps for each muscle group. So, for example Monday is bench day. I’ll right down what I start with and what I finish with. Like, start with 135 lbs. 8 reps. Finish with 290 lbs. 1 rep. Move on to the next exercise and and do the same thing. One warm up set and then work your way up to as heavy as you can go for one rep. I do this with every work out. Bettering my self each week. This is where ProteinBlitz comes in. Training heavy every workout requires protein. It helps with rebuilding of broken down muscle. For me its three ProteinBlitz’s a day.

Now for what’s going on with my acting. I am the new Sweet Tooth for the video game Twisted Metal, Sony’s longest running video game. I am on the cover of Play Station magazine for the month of November. I shot a pilot that has been picked up by Fox television. Last week met with producers for two different projects. Now the waiting game. Thats whats so cool about acting. It changes everyday.
